  Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much are tickets to the Rose Parade and what makes the difference in pricing?
A. Tickets range in price from $42 to $85 per seat. Prices are based on the view, side of the street, and the position on the parade route. Some of the lower priced seats may have some sort of obstructed view; such as a tree, pole, building, etc. affecting only part of your view.

Q. Do you offer discounts? (AAA, Senior, Military, etc…)
A. We sell all tickets at face value. You are buying your tickets direct when you purchase from Sharp Seating. Sometimes we do have specials, i.e. our Official Souvenir program discount and our military discount of 15%.

Q. Will I see the entire parade no matter which area I choose?
A. Yes, the parade journeys down the entire 5 ½ mile parade route. This should take about 2 ½ hours.

Q. How early should I be in my seat?
A. The parade begins promptly at 8:00 am. It is recommended you are seated by 7:00 a.m. if seated at the start of the parade west of Fair Oaks Ave. Otherwise we recommend being seated by 8:00 a.m. Regardless of where you are seated you should plan to arrive in the area at least two hours prior.

Q. Will the bands perform at the grandstand I choose to sit in?
A. We have no control where the 25+ bands will play. However, we do know that no matter which area you are seated, you will see all the bands and hear most of them play. Where they take a break will be different for each band.

Q. Is it better to sit high or low in a grandstand?
A. Most all of the grandstands are elevated at least five feet at the first row. Therefore, regardless of height you will see the parade. It is entirely up to your individual preference.

Q. Will there be people in front of the grandstands?
A. Probably. The grandstands are elevated above the crowds, so it should not be a problem.

Q. Are the seats reserved?
A. Yes, all seats are reserved and numbered. We have ushers at each grandstand to help guide you to your assigned seat.

Q. Do the seats have backs on them?
A. No, they are all bench seats. You are welcome to bring your stadium seat attachments with backs. If your seats are in the top row you will have a guardrail behind you to lean on.

Q. Does a child need a ticket to sit in the grandstands?
A. If a child is two years of age or younger they may sit on an adults lap. Otherwise, they need a ticket like everyone else.

Q. Can you accommodate large groups?
A. We are happy to work with travel agencies and tour operators who wish to reserve group tickets. Bus parking is available near all seating areas. Please contact us directly.

Q. When should I arrive at my parking lot?
A. You should plan to arrive 2 hours prior to the estimated time of arrival of the parade for your seating area. For example, if you are sitting at the beginning of the parade route you should park by 6:00 a.m. If you are sitting at mid parade you should park by 7:00 a.m.

Q. Can I leave my car parked in the lot after the parade is over?
A. Most of our parking lots must be vacated immediately after the parade. We do have limited parking available upon request that will allow you to leave your car temporarily.

Q. Do you offer disabled seating?
A. We have accommodations just for you along the parade route. Just let one of our sales representatives know and we will sell you the proper ticket. The City of Pasadena also offers disabled seating along the parade route free of charge. You can get more information by calling 626.744.7673.

Q. Is there a shuttle service to my seats?
A. No, however we have parking available within walking distance for every grandstand.

Q. What happens if I lose my tickets?
A. Please contact Sharp Seating right away and we will send you replacement tickets. We cannot however, issue replacements on parade day.

Q. What will the weather be like?
A. Typically cold in the morning warming up as the sun rises. Average high in January is 68°. Average low is 50°.

Q. What happens if it rains?
A. The Rose Parade and its events will go on rain or shine. Umbrellas are not allowed in the grandstands.

Q. What if I am unable to attend and need to cancel my order?
A. Cancellations are accepted through November 1st of each year. No refunds will be issued after that date. We do not accept single seat cancellations.

Q. Can I have someone drop me off in front of the grandstands?
A. No. The closest you can get to the parade route for drop off or pick up is at least four to five blocks from the grandstands. Heavy traffic makes this extremely difficult.

Q. What if I need to leave the parade early?
A. You may leave at any time. However, depending on where you are parked, it may be difficult or impossible to get your car out before the parade is over.

Q. How can I help decorate a float?
A. Most of the floats are decorated by volunteers. Information on volunteering can be obtained by calling the Tournament of Roses at 626.449.4100 or on their website at www.tournamentofroses.com.

Q. How do I get information about Bandfest, Post Parade, and other festivities going on that time of year?
A. We sell it all. You can get more information from our website or by calling us directly.

Q. Are restrooms available near the grandstands?
A. Portable restrooms are provided behind each grandstand.

Q. Will there be food available to purchase near my seating area?
A. Vendors will be available at various areas along the parade route. You may also wish to bring your own. Space however is limited in the grandstands. Please do not bring coolers, large containers or anything that will not fit within your seating area.

Q. Is smoking allowed in the grandstands?
A. No. You must vacate the grandstand if you would like to smoke.

Q. How can I find information about hotels and public transportation?

Q. Can you help me with game tickets?
B. The football game is sold out in advance through the participating universities and conferences and the Tournament of Roses. You can get more information at www.tournamentofroses.com.
